Then he did it on Chris Cornell's birthday, his friends birthday, the same way that Chris took his life-about 2 months earlier. I can't believe that was not a coincidence. Theres no way.

This song got me through so much, lots of screaming, but i dont know what i'd have done without it

Given Up

it took a few days to really sink in for me that not only was Chester gone, but that that also meant the end of Linkin Park as we've known them. even if they continue on without Chester, which I really can't imagine, it won't truly be the same band without his voice and his writing.

definitely no coincidence about Chris' birthday. I feel that his suicide was likely the thing that pushed Chester over the edge.

Given Up is great. currently listening to In Pieces.

Marty Stuart's 1994 CD, "Love & Luck"

For those that might know who Marty is, he began his career working as a mandolinist in Lester Flatt's bluegrass band at the urging of Roland White (bluegrass guitarist and later Byrds guitarist, Clarence White's, brother) at the age of 13.

Marty actually met Clarence once - but that was his only meeting with Clarence. In 1979/1980, Marty found out from Clarence's widow, Suzie, that she was selling some of Clarence's stuff (Clarence was tragically killed by a drunk driver, Yoko Ito, on the morning of July 15, 1973. He was only 29 at the time of his untimely death). In the stuff that Susie was selling was Clarence's 1954 Fender Telecaster electric guitar that has the prototype B-Bender (or PullString as it's officially listed by Gene Parsons, who built the device for Clarence).
