Coughing up a Lung
Hello
I have been coughing so bad that I have pulled a stomach muscle. I have been looking for natural ways to assist the issues of the cough.
I read that Basil Tea made from fresh Basil will help the cough. Or chewing on a leaf of Basil. I am not a fan of Basil but OMG it works. I have coughed maybe twice in over two hours. Its not that bad as a tea.
There are 7 major benefits to Basil so this will be something that I use more often. Maybe even a daily routine.
For my stuffy nose Sea Water and that has worked wonders.
I did have to go to the ER for a breathing steroid treatment as I let things go too far with the issues I had.
Did you know that pain killers and anti inflammatory make the coughing worse and that will then tear the muscle more.
Lynn
Side note like anything you have not taken before try a small piece on your skin to help rule out allergic reactions. I know this from cloves a natural herb that can be deadly to me.

Hi, Lynn.
Sorry to hear about your suffering with this terrible flu :(
My husband has been coughing on and off since July! and refuses to see a doctor about it, therefore I do my best on this end to relieve his flares with eucalyptus leaves. For each cup of tea, 5 leaves are suffice. Bring to anboil and let simmer for 5-7 minutes. Strain, allow to slightly cool and then add a tsp. of honey.
It acts as an antiseptic and tremendously soothes the cough. Two to theee cups a day are recommended.
Hope you feel better soon.

If you have a vaporizer adding some eucalyptus and tea tree oil to the water may help you a little bit, but the basil sounds like it's doing a pretty good job on it's own.
