AP-ing
I'm not sure how many times I've AP-ed in my life but for sure I've never seen a cord of any shape or color even once. When they first began i would typically end up in the corner of the ceiling (like a spider or a bug) but when I finally got over being freaked out by the quick exit out of the body i'd set my intent on what I wanted to explore and go there. This was when I realized the only thing faster than the speed of light is the speed of thought. My success rate of following my intent was only about 50%, the other 50% felt like I was caught in a vacuum and I went where it wanted me to go. To me AP-ing is just another plain of consciousness not to be overthought or over-sought. We can easily become caught up in the folly of such things forgetting that the material reality we are all a part of has the power to unlock many doorways for those who seek genuinely.

Hi Gurmb,
I also practice conscious projection and have never seen a cord, but know that others do. I also recommend William Buhlman (he also has a great website with lots of tips and information). Another great author is Robert Monroe. He coined the term "Out of body". Here are 3 books he wrote that I found quite helpful, in order of publication: Journey's out of the body, Far Journey's and Ultimate Journey's.
Congrats on your first AP/OBE, It's exciting and exhilarating. Good luck!
