It depends what you believe and what you feel. Me personally, I believe all things from nature have a spirit. Including trees and even rocks, and animals. I lost my cat a few years ago, she's long gone.. lol.. She moved onto a different life time, I feel.
As for reincarnation- it depends what you follow. I believe God can choose to send his creations back to earth. It all depends on what you believe in.
I feel from you that your dog is in the process of crossing into the Light (heaven). It's common for a spirit of someone/something that just died to stay here for a bit and take time for them to cross into the light and to find peace.
Be blessed xx

I do hope that she will come back to our house when she is ready, it is so hard when you have to make the decision on some one else's live i hope i made the right one for her sake.

Oh, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. It is hard and you will grieve. For me, it was like losing a child. She was such a joy and she held a special place in our family.

Our last dog, Jasmine is here with us. We see her shadow from time to time and the dogs know she is here - they share their space with her. She gets on my son's bed and curls up on the couch sometimes. She has been gone 8 earth years. Both of our girls are very different from Jazz, so I don't think reincarnation is involved here, but I do think, just as with humans, a pet can reincarnate if they choose to.

Sorry to hear of your loss. There is nothing so pure as an animal's love. They become part of the family and no-one who is not an 'animal person' themselves can understand what it means to lose a beloved pet.

The Spirit of God animates both man and beast, so yes, animals do have a spirit and a soul, just as we do.

All your beloved pets will be waiting for you when your 'time' comes and you pass over.
You may even sense their presence about the house for a while.
(You might like to have a look at the 'Pets: Faithful till the end - and beyond' thread in the Nature section.)

When animals pass over they go to a place called Rainbow Bridge, where they can all play again, it is possible for animals to reincarnate just as it is for us,
