Interesting observation

When meditating you're often told to 'look to the 3rd eye' ... this has never been wholly comfortable for me, as no amount of blinking or eye adjusting makes it more comfortable and I can get a bit headachey after a while.

I've been away this week (and my crystals have been at home). I found myself mentally reaching out to home because I was missing a particular crystals energy and I could feel the awareness spreading out from my midsection, more the solar plexus area. The images of my crystal layout became really clear and I mentally walked through my house.

I found that by reaching out through the solar plexus I could visualise more clearly. It was almost like I was looking out over a field, rather than looking directly at a brick wall.

Now I'm home and more comfortable I will be experimenting with a new type of meditation. I get the feeling I will be able to hold my meditations for longer too! A real ah-ha moment.

As to the headaches, probably the cause of the headaches is that you are trying too hard to force it open. Even for those with very developed third eyes, hey can strain too hard to see and end up with a headache. Obviously the solution is to ease up a bit.

FYI: There are many forms of meditation. Only a few emphasize the third eye (chakra). More popular these days in the USA seems to be to emphasize the heart (chakra). Long ago Tantra was popular, it emphasized the lower chakras. Some say breath is the key, others say to clear the mind. There are a lot of ways 'forward', I invite you to try some others too.
