I'm sorry but I'm worried.

Is the gift of healing from God?

Yes.

If God is everything, provides everything, created everything then... of course it is.

No one knows the answer to that but you. Why do you think it's not?

The potential problem I see in healing is our assumption that we should be helping others spiritually and us thinking we know what others need. Those are huge assumptions, and very often we think we know alot more than we actually do. I think it's pretty common in spirituality that people assume they should be helping others, when they really should be helping themselves.

I won't speak in absolutes of course but I have noticed there is something in healing that often requires the presence and love of another. The soul love, or the unconditional love. Some call this the love of the sacred heart. At this level, love is very personal. By this, it is not necessarily intimate, of course. That is only for a particular sort of sacred connection.

But this process involves being seen and accepted at our cores, at the soul level. In healing, or in giving love/energy/positive intention, we too are healed. In being healed, in accepting love/energy/positive intention, we too provide healing to others. It is the mutual presence of authentic souls that allows for healing.

By this, I am agreeing with Seawolf. Helping yourself is key. And doing so will help those with whom you are connected. The reverse is also true, in any direction.

Peace & blessings,
7L

You've gotten some nice responses here candyfloss28.
Do they address your worry?
To ascertain the source of healing, consider it's effect.
Does the healing benefit and "empower" the recipient?
I imagine that the source of your worry has an agenda other than
empowerment (perhaps emphasizing "subservience" or "compliance").
Decide for yourself what ideals hold precedence for you.

Agreed.

However, "worry" is from the other guy.

Doesn't make sense, I know.

Healing is very natural, really our bodies heal themselves. They can be helped along with extra energy from the right foods or other people, but it's the body that really heals itself, a testament to the amazing creations we are. Everything is energy, and certain things like love help the energy become more coherent, a better environment for healing. So I don't believe you can "heal" someone, you can just help them heal themself more efficiently. So nothing to worry about. You can't heal the wrong person, and it can't be evil. It's just scientific. When energy is more coherent, it's easier for our bodies to fix themselves the way they are designed to.
