what we are and what we are not

what we are not: form, that which changes, the contents of consciousness, our thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, emotions, our ego identity, our self-concept

what we are: that which doesn't change, Buddha nature, love, Christ Mind, consciousness itself not the contents of consciousness, ultimate reality, the thinker not the thoughts

In a sense yes, but that's a good thing, a wonderful thing. It means that we're ALREADY 'there,' - there's nothing to achieve or attain, we're already perfect.

Buddha said, 'After all these years, I have attained nothing.'

One of the lessons in ACIM is, 'I am as God created me.' Then it says, 'In this thought is salvation found.'

You see, that's the bottom line, the point of enlightenment. We already have it. There's nowhere to get to.

It also means we're all equals.

Glad to confirm I am done. Fail to see that as good or bad.

Why am I (here)? I'll pass on this enlightenment thing if this 'perfection' is the only result.

What we are: Everything, the Eternal Universe.

What we are not: There is nothing that we are not.

Are we going to state that we know what that means. I don't even know if I have free will, and that is fine with me. Because if there is nothing to attain there isn't really any need for it is there Maybe I never truly become anything because I already am it, yet that does not mean that the essence of it is not growing with the experience of already being it. So what I am is that which I am, and what I am not is that which I never were. Even if that is something new at every turn of the river So maybe I am not really changing my perception, but it is actually the landscape that is changing, and my perception is simply just following it...

I used to take that perspective, happy soul.

But the reason it's confusing is because the unchanging thing is the true self.

But the self isn't all you are. The self and the appearances inside the self are actually One. You are that One limitless being. We should not neglect the changing appearances. We should all work to change the appearances into something as positive as possible.
