New inexpensive source for rough rocks in US
I just ordered 7-8 New rocks from a website called Stone Age Industries in the US. I do like, and have a lot of stones in their rough state and this website sells rough rocks and cabochon slabs by the pound. Prices start at $2-3.00 a pound and go up from there.
There are a lot of Jasper,Agate, Obsidians,Calcites,Quartz, & Tiger Iron. In a lot of cases, shipping will cost more than the stone. So, for the pieces you don't need to carry around or wear, this website might have what you need
I find these rough pieces have a lot of energy, and don't need cleaning as often. I also feel they haven't been subjected to as much trauma as your smaller tumbles, which might have to endure as much as 2 months of tumbling to be marketed as a AAA smooth, inclusion free piece. There are good photos representing the type of stone for sale on the site.
I ran out of money. Next time, I plan on buying a 3 inch $20.00 pyrite Sun. The site indicates an age on those of 350 million years. If anybody is familiar with the pyrite Suns, I would love to hear about their qualities.
