Why don't bad people ascend?

I don't even know what you mean by ascension.
Life is life and we live and die. We are part of nature and our nature and development, life experiences and conditioning often determine what we are from a very young age born into the life circumstances we have landed with.
Do you think life has a reason other than to give life too? So in someone's passing and leaving behind their vessel, death means new life perhaps will come from that? Is that about ascension or life and death itself?
The story we tell ourselves is really just the nature of humans and their minds creating and exploring things that sometimes fit what they wish to learn through and settle their own minds.
In the end the mind will control what it wants to be and know, but in the end we are all just here living and existing as best as we can and know to be, learning and growing ongoing as individuals and greater groups through the whole life stream.

What I mean by Ascension is shedding of blockages, a new perspective bought into your life as a result. I change my mind - I have an idea as to why this may not happen to "bad" people - they aren't sending the universe vibes of lack so the universe is keeping them in the same circumstances, not bringing them the new experience that is Ascension. "Good" people who might be out of place with their environment are sending out vibes of lack in that they don't feel involved with their environment - at least that's how it is with me

The heaviness of our actions, thoughts, words and deeds, or behaviors, does not allow us to ascend.
The light is not only brilliant in quality but it is also light in weight; "if my heart weighs more than

or how we may have violated others. In my opinion this goes hand in hand with the concept of
repentance. Again, in my opinion, there no such thing as "good" or "bad" there is only an open heart
and a closed heart, and a truly open heart views others, and experiences others, as them-self.

P.S. I do believe in karma; we reap what we sow.

Ascension is all about overcoming living in negative emotions. In order to overcome the negative emotions, one has to work on themselves. I guess it depends on how or what you define as "bad". Ascension doesn't make us perfect (at least not yet at this stage), so going through Ascension doesn't mean we will not mess up or make mistakes. However, messing up or making mistakes does not make us "bad".
Those that do not ascend in this cycle, will be people who choose and decide not to work on themselves, thus staying stuck in negative emotions. That doesn't mean they will not get there eventually, they just need more of this type of current Earth lesson to enforce to them a reason to change.

Not typically how ascension is defined. How does one dematerialize thought. Why does it take reincarnation to ascend (do this). Is ascension inevitable? Why the number of cycles, can't we bypass them. Why can't we be born knowing. The physical body obviously has something to do with it.

So true, we do and it is also important to see what we do to overself we do to others is but a dialog, in fact a form of communication. I use the example of feeling hurt, how pain and hurt is used to express and convey through pain and hurt, it's no different then language and in a way like a language. Hurt is used to express hurt. Be cognitive next time if possible step outside the moment and observe the flow and dance of the energy and what the objective is. Communications is in everything. Just something I noticed imo about the relationship of it.

Ascension I think is usually thought of the physical ascending, the physical ascending of the body for instance. I have to admit, I absolutely had no idea what you meant at first. You're clarification therefore, was surely needed for me....lol.
