South East Asia came to mind when I first saw it. I got Nepali or Thailand vibes, but I couldn't piece it together with google LOL. I can see how it would almost look like Latin/Central America too. My only draw back was the features, they look more 'old world', even African influenced than the natives here in this continent

I googled, Khmer, yep, totally looks like it *high fives* good job, Shivani!!

Thank you, Clover.

I can also tell you exactly where that bust was made, it came from Ubud in Bali...going by the jewelry and headdress design.

During the 11th and 12th century CE, the Majapahit Empire dominated all of South East Asia, bringing with it the art and traditions of Nepal...So even though the statue was made in Bali, it is a copy of the Buddhist and Khmer art from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and parts of Laos dating to the 12th Century.

I hope it's not made out of ivory. Please always have that in the back of your mind when you buy exotic stuff.
Elephants are needlessly dying off because of this ivory trade.

I'm pretty sure the sculpture is was carved out of wood. As far as I'm aware Ivory doesn't look the color in the image I posted.

I hope that helps.

What do you mean "by now" if it were not always so?

Long time no see, my dear friend. I hope life is treating you well.

In the art worlk these things are highly replicated. This is a very pale wood, balsom perhaps. It may be from the US.
