Are shiva and shakti twin flames?

I'm getting into this tf concept recently and was curious if Hinduism believed in twin flames? Then i remembered seeing a photo of half shiva and half shakti forming 1 God. So was wondering whether shiva and shakti were also twin flame?

@OP Siva/Shakti is God is God seen as unmanifest/manifest. Can't have one without the other.

Namastey,

Soul is the consciousness. Shiva is known as the SOUL and Parvati (Shakti) is Known as MIND. Consciousness is real and mind is unreal. The joint form you are talking about is called as Ardhanarishwar. The Shakti you are talking about is also known by various names like Uma, Parvati, Kali etc. All these are the names of Hindu Goddess.
In Short both Shiva and Shakti are Soul and Mind.

So Shiva and Shakti are personified illustrations of the phenomena soul and mind?
Shiva and Shakti don't exist as real persons?

I wasn't sure if I should move this over to the soul mate section. However, I can see how it would be an interesting question for this subject area too because one can go further in depth with the Hinduism literature as I am seeing now.

Depends on the school of Hinduism doing the analysis, but this is the common idea.

noun, Hinduism. 1. the Godhead, of which the masculine, passive, transcendent, eternal principle is Shiva, and the feminine, active, immanent, temporal principle is Shakti, the Divine Mother. Compare Tantra.

Yes, there are a number of interpretations concerning Shiva and Shakti. It is good to investigate and come to your own view upon reflection.

The TF idea is a modern, western construction so probably not best suited to explain certain Hindu concepts. And, Hinduism has suffered in the past from western ideas simplifying and reassessing certain Indian truths in a grand colonial sweep of modernisation.

Real Persons? God doesn't exist as real person. God is omnipresent and is in our heart. Many scriptures and holy vedas has mentioned the existence of Hindu Gods and their representation in Kalyuga. Even Ying and Yang energies.

I suggest you to read about Gauri Shankar Rudraksha. It will explain you more on Ying and Yang.

I always thought Shiva and Shakti were worshipped as individuals only.

But if I understand correctly now, Shiva and Shakti are seen as properties of the Ultimate Being by other streams of Hinduism.

There is much diversity in Hinduism. Very colorful.

Thanks for the explanations.
