my mother died horribly of cancer four years ago, I sat with her - and the rest of the family - although they found her dying too much to handle, for all of the hours - we sat, I held her hand, sang and talked.
arund three weeks later - slept with my partner in spare room - two single beds, looked around, thought ' she would have liiked this' - she had brought up 4 kids in a hard time - we had little but lots - home made vegetable soup in hard times, from the veg dad grew and as time went on chicken on Sunday.
I was awakened by an inclination on the bed, small single bed, tilted as if someone sat on it, I thought weird - immediately awake - could here partners snuffling in sleep, knew dad wouldnt come into room.
the bed tilted further, likw someone leaning - you know when you are a kid and your parent comes in and sits and you pretend to be asleep.
Then bed tilting further- a kiss on the side of my face.
I sat bolt upright - there was no-one in the room. The bedroom door was closed.
She came back for an instance.
