Writing A Dream

(warning, I'm writing an adult horror story, so some nasty content, sorry!)

Hello, I'm currently writing a nightmare scene in a dark story I'm working on and I just need a little help with the symbolism. I've interpreted my own dreams before but it's a lot harder trying to put one together!

I've already got some ideas but if anyone can tell me some symbols which would be better I'd really appreciate it! If not, could you look at my current idea and see if it fits?

Main protagonist is a young adult female, has already experienced physical and sexual violence by the demon (saying she's pregnant with hell spawn, but it's actually transforming her into another demon).

The nightmare so far; she wakes up back in her house, everything is fine, the demon attacks from before where a nightmare. Goes downstairs, decorators are working in the kitchen, she goes to eat an apple, but after biting into it it's rotten or maybe has a dead baby bird in it. She goes to throw up and vomits up butterflies. The builders then start using sledgehammers on the walls, knocking throw to change the house into a nightmare version of metal, rust, chains, gore, all that fun stuff. Also, there is no outside world anymore, just empty blackness.

Thank you! sorry for the long thread ^^".

I personally like what you have here. It says to me that the traumatic experience has transformed her into something more sinister herself. At first I did question the butterflies but I think I am in strong agreement with the use of them symbolizing that her joy and spirit is leaving her with the transformation into a demon herself. I think the symbolism is good. Best of luck with the rest of it.
