I don't know if dream characters are real

I tried once sending Reiki to some dream ferrets after I had awoken, and realized there was nothing to send to. They did not exist. The Reiki went nowhere.

So after we wake up, the characters in our dreams no longer exist?

Are they real while we are dreaming?

I think sometimes my guide is in a dream. He's given me numbers before to help me.

Interesting question. I too think certain dream characters aren't produced by our brain. It might be best to reflect on your feelings/emotions in the dream and how the 'character' makes you feel (Do they feel familiar? Do you feel connected somehow? Etc.). Also take into account any messages or what a character is doing in the dream.

In a normal dream, all characters are aspects of yourself.
