Blocked from crying

Hey,

I've noticed stuck emotions right at my throat and nose area, but they won't come forth. I'll get teary eyed, but I need to bawl and can't. I used to cry on a dime to the point that it was a daily thing, but I've struggled with having a good cry the past couple of years even though I really really need one.

Any advice??

Thank you :)

IMO, it'll happen when you're ready to, which isn't quite yet by the sounds of it.

It can happen unexpectedly during the healing process I find. I had a little cry on Sunday night out the blue, but I'm certain the energy was blocked that needed to be released.

It'll come when it's ready.

Aw, thank you. I trust it will come forward soon enough with a little bit of patience and divine timing :).

Is there anything specific that is upsetting you? Anything relevant that is making you feel you need to cry? Obviously don't share if it's personal.

If you can feel emotions within, more so trapped ones, then there is something at the core that needs investigating and released, which you probably already know.

I tend to get very still and quiet, focus on feeling it for five minutes and whatever the situation/thing/person the feeling is related to comes to the forefront of my thoughts, so I then begin investigating why that feeling is there, what caused it, and learn to let it go.

Starry_Night,

I've experienced something very similar in the past, after losing several members of my family in a very short space of time. It took a while, and actually in the end, some counselling before I was able to let go of what I was holding onto. As silly as it sounds, sometimes simple things like watching a sad movie help me when I feel like I might need a good cry.

I hope that you find your answers soon.

I'm well known in the DP/DR boat. Go nuts, scream to heavy metal, lay in bed for 18 hours a day, try hanging upside down from a tree, play with a cat, listen to Charles Bukowski telling you to kill your dog, etc.

Also know that anxiety is the red line here. Focus on root chakra work to integrate your fears and the rest will sort itself out.

Yes...your throat chakra (visuddha) is blocked. This chakra has to do with knowing and expressing your truth.

I would spend time in reflecting but then also move in a concrete way directing that to expression. Meaning, journal &/or talk out your thoughts and feelings about any deeper or pressing issues in your life.

If you still cannot locate it or move through it, I would definitely go for reading or watching things that move you or that have moved you in the past.

Be patient and kind with yourself

Peace & blessings

It's not the eyes, or the throat which cries, it's the Heart. If you focus on something deeply Heart-felt, it will open up blocks. That must be genuine though and something dear to you. My suggestion is you may be "guarding" on a Heart-felt level -against pain...wounds.
The Heart is like the Sun, without which not much grows.

Dare and be brave. You will not be severely injured by what you allow the Heart to feel. The pain will be a passing thing on the way to healing and warmth. Tears will wash you.

Maybe do safe things that let you express your emotions so your heart can open and your emotions run as needed.
Something like tear jerker movies.
Sometimes we get emotionally shut down because we're in circumstance where we don't feel safe to express emotions. Movies might help - cause the emotions they illicit aren't about you personally.
After a few months of allowing emotions to run naturally again watching tear jerker movies or deeply moving music, you might find you can open to spontaneous emotion again and feel safe doing so.
Its a thought.
