Ummon,

Thank you for presenting a mirror herein of my own practice of spirituality, though not particularly named "Ignatian" ...nevertheless reflects many of the tenants and actions I've found as essential to remain keenly aware of my relationship to the Creator of every thing and every one...

...as made of His Spirit and as His Image.

...and which wholeheartedly agrees with your excellent signature message: Where there is love there is life.

Again, thanks....

Hi Folks..

Umon; Yes,Thanks for that - very interesting..I concur with Guthrio here,in that I find it is veyr compatable with my own understanding, but I would not have associated it with an external label at all...Perhaps then,it is a pointer to a UNIVERSAL spiritual approach, that does actually work, can be applied to the here and now...Many things resonated wholy with me,especally this :

"Ignatian spirituality is rooted in the conviction that God is active, personal, and—above all—present to us. We don’t have to withdraw from the world into a quiet place in order to find God. "

PRECISELY..I and the Father are ONE - NO seperation - a LIVING PROCESS,as I often say..what starts as a "parctice" a definate time and place event set aside fo rthis communion, soon, grows, and morphs into this ever present Awareness that needs just a slight shift in Conscious mind,to appreciate and realise..

I especialy appreciate the way he directs us INWARDS,continually, and the emphasiss on personal EMOTIONAL STATE,and its control..From what I read, seems St Ignatuis truly understood Christ, took His teaching and applied it to his own life, lived it daily..The things he describes doing, seem as I say,to be a bona fide, natural result - a universal mechaninsm to invoke the Holy spirit, and hol dit ever present..A most interesting read that I will have to uncover further..Thank you..

Most pleasing to Jesus is the person/soul, from one's own heart, of whom focusses on Jesus Christ our Saviour, His Stations of His Cross endured, and His Sorrowful Agonies as we Love, Trust and abide in Him.

Kindest wishes

Ignatian Spirituality can be very confusing for starters and proficients.
For starters, I highly recommend The Three Ways of the Spiritual Life by Reginald-Garrigou Langrange.
http://www.ewtn.com/library/SPIRIT/3WAYS.txt
and
http://www.documentacatholicaomnia.e...l_Life,_EN.pdf
OR
The Spiritual Life; A Treaty on Ascetical and Mystical Theology by Tanquerey, Adolphe.

That second link sometimes works sometimes it doesn't. So figure it out.
