My theory, as many others echo is there is an amnesia of sorts. However there's a caveat to it as well. Many children remember past lives, see spirit much more easily as they have not been tainted yet. I think naturally, people do have a more close nature to the "great spirit" or however you put it personally, everyone is connected to. The world we live in today conditions people to break off from that connection. When the connection is broken, the amnesia is even worse. However I think meditation(along with lucid dreams, etc) can bring your understanding closer to where you came from. Even an open mind has it's benefits as well. When you want a greater understanding of something, truly desire it, signs and situations seem to come your way to help you.

In other's people lives that amnesia can be very important for them to accomplish what it is they came here for. However if you're lost as to why you are here at times, that lack of connection can make life feel even more daunting. I've always thought to some degree people choose and map out their lives to learn what they need to while here, so while it helps to know it's okay if you don't because circumstances should unfold to help you grow.

Hello

Life is for the learning experiences we get from the physical body we are housed in. If we were to remember (like some do from NDE ) we might not want to come to a physical world. Life at times is full of struggles and hardships and if we were able to remember the place where all that is free from us would we try so hard in life to live it ? Or would we simply seek to go back home ?

We can find that place of peace if we seek it out. We find it when we quiet the brain chatter and go deeper inside. Meditations or a simply solitary walk in nature can open the door to those feelings. We though are here to evolve our Soul and that means we are here to work.

That work does not seem to end when one goes over the the Light, in working with Spirits I know well that there is work they do there too.

It might be instinctive and pre-programmed.

Personally, I like to think of my final home being with my mother and father. In this life, I have many siblings too, but I dont see them there as I want to spend time with my parents only. I know it sounds really silly and petty.

I feel that they will come and collect me after school (this life) is over and they are currently on holiday enjoying their peace and quiet until I get there. School(or university) is both fun and hard, so is life. As I have spent most of my life in educational institutes and through my academic career, this is how I see life as a long experiment.

Perhaps the current life experience shows us our spiritual links as we continue to interact with it through our lives and probably when we die we manifest in that domain. Do you have any further thoughts on this topic?

For you to have a memory of a place you have to have been there, in such a case it firstly has to exist. There might just not exist an afterlife (/spirit world), the same way dreams does not exist on their own accord.

Another thing is, if it exist. Your body, where most primarily dwell, have never been there, so for it to not have memories of it would not be a big surprise Even the memories you remember from this life (slightly) alters as your perception of life changes.

When you go to bed tonight, as your guide to take your soul to the other side, you can go to the meadow, hall of wisdom, hall of justice and walk along the golden road. I personally love the meadow over the bridge with the running stream. You can astral travel to the other side.
If you ask your guide ask for a quick trip out and back in your body. It took a while for my guide to get me back in and you do not want to wake up with your soul trying to get back in, its like hitting a brick wall! Look for the white light and follow it up until your on the other side. Let me know how you do.

I believe when we get to heaven we will remember life like a very vivid dream, and we can recall any memory at any time. We will also know a vast amount more about our true origins and history.
