Yes, King Crimson. I've been a pretty big fan since I was a teen in the eighties. They kind of lost me at some point but I really enjoy their seventies and eighties albums in particular. Red and Starless and Bible Black are great albums too if you dig Lark's tongues in aspic.
Since this is a spritual site it's worth mentioning that the percussionist on LTIA, Jamie Muir quit the band to become a monk. Apparently it was at Bill Bruford's wedding where he gave Jon Anderson(of Yes)a copy of Paramahansa Yogananda's "autobiography of a Yogi" which ultimately(based on a footnote from the book)led to Yes creating the double album "tales from topographic oceans" which is probably the most mystical and spiritual album Yes created(which is really saying something).

Maybe a bit outside of my comfort zone as well but I kind of liked it nonetheless.

It was for me as well when I first heard it, but it's grown on me.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a good thing.

The album arrived and I am quite disappointed with it. Discipline is a much better album. Larks Tongues is too ambient and washed out. I won't be listening to it much.

I also saw a guy walk on top of the crowd while playing guitar. Not crowd surfing, crowd walking. No one does that, and I've never seen it since.

Ambient? Are you sure you got the right album? What is the track listing? You might have received one of Robert Fripp's solo albums by accident or maybe one of his collaborations with Brian Eno. If that's not the case then trust me it will grow on you. It took me a while to fully appreciate also. Easily a desert island disc for me and easily in my top ten of all time. Yes, it's wild and has soft and loud passages but that's what makes it special.

Sorry Mystik, It is definitely the right album. It reminds me of the music I used to listen to while smoking pot.....lol. It is just not my cup of tea anymore. I need something a bit more upbeat. This album has got too many quiet periods.
