I feel strange.
Well, today, for the first time, I prayed to Odin. As a newcomer to this spiritual path, I felt a bit awkward when reciting my prayer out loud. Although I was alone, I still felt a bit self conscious. If anyone else has had issues similar to these, do you have tips to get over it? Or does it go away with time? I would like to rid myself of this issue, as I feel I can't pray as seriously/emotionally as I think I should.

Don't worry. I feel pretty self conscious some times as well, and I know it does affect my prayer, but also I don't pray unless I feel that it is the right time. I don't like what I call "lip service prayers", but i know i also need to pray more in general, anyway. Thanks must be given, so mayhap one day we will come to a happy medium in our lives and in our paths. =)

Agree with Deepsoul. "Prayers" do not need to be verbalised, neither do "spells" or "rituals".
