Want to AP but scared.
I've had APs, but not intentionally, and once I Realized I Was about to AP, I stopped it.
I want to do it consciously, but I am a bit scared to see a negative spirit on the other side, all that I can do is think of love and ask for help and protection from my guides...right? I haven't met my guides, and I hope to in AP. But I wouldn't know if the spirit is truly my guide, I guess that's where intuition comes in?
I'm also scared to AP, because well I know there is a presence in my house. I can't tell if it's good or bad as i Haven't approached it head on, I don't plan to. But I think that if I AP, I'm bound to meet it :/. I really do not want to deal with a negative spirit, not yet anyways.
I'm younger than most I guess, and I also think that's apart of why I'm scared to AP.
Overall, I don't feel like I'm ready to AP yet. But I know if I Do, I'll either have a wonderful, or horrible experience. I just don't know which one yet.

Given that you are full of fear, it's highly likely you'll have a bad experience. Your state of mind can be extremely influential during these experiences and can instantly manifest whatever it is you are thinking - or even feeling.
My advice would be to educate yourself about what exactly it is you are fearful of - damaging your physical body? Your mental health? And looking at your beliefs about astral projection. Do you believe you are actually leaving your physical body behind? Why do you hold this belief?
It might be worth exploring lucid dreams first. This is a 'nice' way to get used to the astral. It feels safer, you are in control, and you can abort an experience simply by making yourself wake up. Once you get used to lucid dreaming and all the nuances within that mental state, you may found you've lost quite a bit (hopefully, all) the fear you currently have about projection.

Well, with so many irrational beliefs and phobias, I recommend do not attempt a projection. Free yourself from negativity first. Chances are, even if you manage to project with so much burden on your back, you will find nothing but negativity there.
It helps to know what you are doing, and why you are doing it. There needs to be a goal, a positive purpose, a step by step approach. If you are not positive and not extremely curious, the fear will keep you in, firmly locked into the body (in metaphorical terms).
