Newbie user: Nurse

Hi Everybody!
I'm a nurse doing research on the topic of spirituality from a nursing perspective. ie: spirituality is not an optional topic for any person, it's sorta like having a heartbeat, brainwaves and lab values.
From this perspective; Stalin, Hitler, Mother Teresa and Donald Trump, all possess a certain spirituality. How to assess this quality is an entirely different nut to crack.

Soooo... that's what I'm doing here. I'll be reading all the different threads about what people 'THINK' about spirituality and make only small ripples of mindfulness in postings. I hope to graduate in status and be able to set my very own Avatar (..likely a picture of my very spiritual dog Ava..) I'm hoping to bump across some kindred spirits of the egghead variety to chat with eventually
[ maybe swap perspectives and resources, eh? I'd love to write a PhD someday]

I'm of a fairly hard core Roman Catholic persuasion; two of my most favorite books are "The Divided Self" by R.D. Laing and "The True Believer" by Eric Hoffer; I love to gamble at Baccarat (preferably played with Tarots); and I throw a mean set of Yarrow sticks.

Welcome and greetings!

For me, and I'm sure many others here, spirituality isn't about what we 'think'. It's about what we feel, experience.

Am I misunderstanding, or are you saying that, essentially, each person's actions...philosophies...who they are...are a product of their spirit? Here's how I and I'm sure at least a few others here experience spirituality: it's more an "inner being"...the true self. It's like a car (the body) and the driver (the spirit, consciousness, soul...whatever) make one unit. The spirit and the ego (which is a product of our physical minds) are two separate forces within one physical being.
If I misunderstood you, my apologies...and please help me to understand your statement properly. (We're here to share, exchange experiences, ask questions and learn whether we're experiencers or just interested in learning, so please feel free and at ease with comments or questions.)
