i didn't take note of any hell during my NDE.

That's interesting . My experience (not an official NDE, as such, but close ) and reading (various things ) tells me that we gravitate to where we are energetically/karmically/consciosness-wise . I've heard that we don't just make huge leaps and move permanently from where we are to somewhere much higher vibrationally than we are, and that we progress through stages after we die . NDE's are one way to make huge jumps but they are temporary. Other times I've jumped in dreams , and those last a little while . I've had some huge jumps but I come back to being 'me' quickly .
Anyway , when I was a drunk and in a very miserable state , I was very afraid of dying like that, because somewhere I knew I wouldn't be going to a nice place . I sensed very clearly that I'd be burdened with the stuff in my life that was me making myself miserable; I knew it wouldn't magically get whisked away if I died .
I can see how people end up in some very nasty realms if they die with icky stuff going on here . I also know that I have moved out of the ickyness and that I would have a relatively smooth ride into whatever lighter realms my Spirit wanders in . I don't buy the Bible mythology , and I have no particular interest in things of the Oriental culture , but some of the most captivating dream visions I've had , of truly magical, heavenly realms (no other way to describe them ) have had a distinctively Chinese design to them . More accurately , perhaps, they have archetypal motifs and essences that Chinese design ideas borrow from . It's very curious
Another odd thing that's probably neither here nor there , an astrologer once looked at my chart and said I live in the Bardo, gthe time between death and rebirth . Always thought that was odd and interesting . Seems normal to me . It's been very messy in my past , but nice for many years .
To me, what happens ( nice or ugly) in an NDE is a reflection of where a person is in gtheir spiritual development . Maybe not an exact, direct correlation or indication, but generally , I think the concept applies .
