It's interesting to read everyone's different views on this as I have discussed this with my colleagues as well and they all have different views but I think the only time am going to find out the answer to this question is when I die. I have read a few articles about people who have died and been brought back to life I find it interesting how most story's like this seem to have a similar experience e.g. floating above there bed and seeing themselves some have seen bright lights but some research suggests that this is just the mind and nervous system because the brain stays alive a bit longer than the body

Peace.
I think he did not investigate with an open mind, more imprisoned in his own concepts IMO.

However, this Doctor Sam Parnia investigated NDE (near death experiences) and this is what he had to say:

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them. They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.

“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.”

Dr Parnia says there are scientific explanations for the reaction, and says seeing people is not evidence of the afterlife, but more likely the brain just scanning itself as a survival technique.

Dr Parnia says there are scientific explanations for the reaction, and says seeing people is not evidence of the afterlife, but more likely the brain just scanning itself as a survival technique.

And perhaps the so-called scientific explanations are based on a false premise. This comes back to the prevailing theory of science that all consciousness, thinking etc originates in the brain and therefore any NDE is due to the brain firing neurons in a last attempt to survive.

Yet many scientists question the belief that consciousness is created by the brain. Some may be reluctant to openly go against prevailing opinion because it might threaten their careers and credibility, but others are willing to put forward alternative ideas about consciousness.

There are esoteric/occult explanations of NDE which are far more convincing (to me) than the idea of the brain scanning itself. But scientists such as Sam Parnia have to come up with an explanation which fits their beliefs. Just because someone has the title of Doctor does not mean that they really understand the phenomenon of NDE.

Peace.

Interesting, there seems to be a lot of proof for spirit(consciousness)/afterlife provided by NDE, Reincarnation cases, Mediums, Consciousness continuing on Quantum level after death...

Yet the scientific community does not accept anything as verified evidence...and at the moment there is no consensus all these are just concepts...They either regard them as hallucinations (imaginations), or mythological made-up stories as people couldn't explain phenomena in the past.

Most scientists I think rely on the Theory Of Evolution (Natural selection, evolution and adaptation) since they reject Creationism Theory which makes me think: Did Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus (1.8 Million Years Ago) or Previous Hominini, for example had spirit/consciousness as well?

According to the Law of One, the Earth is evolving into 4th density. It is a density 100X more harmonious than 3D which we are in now.
After death, each soul will determine if it can harvest into the next density. A progression of soul evolution. Otherwise it will have to repeat 3D for another 75,000 years.

I only hope I can make harvest. I really want to get back to Creator. Eventually after 7th density one can remerge with the One Infinite Creator.
This is all according to the Law of One.

According to the Law of One, anything before Homo Sapiens was second density. We are third density.

I hold the belief that where there is no profit to be made, science debunks the truth.

Certainly in t he same way as animals have, they are part of an oversoul.
(second density)
