Does God fulfill our wishes?

It is often said that if we pray with a pure heart, God fulfills our desires and wishes. But isn't it wrong? If we are getting attached to worldly possessions and praying to God to give us so or so thing/person, then it just means we don't have a pure heart. We are still consumed by our ego. Or can we actually pray from God to give us something and he would fulfill our wishes?

I think it's totally okay to have desires and wishes. But no need to pray for them. Don't have hope, have faith in "god". visualize your dreams and feel as if you have reached them. Then "god" will deliver them to you at the perfect time. trust "god".
have desires doesn't mean you there have to be attachments. there is something that is beyond your comprehension, all you gotta have is faith that it will naturally come to you once you change your belief systems.

As far as visualization techniques are concerned, and I know lots of people believe in the "Law of Attraction,"
but I believe in karma and no matter how much a person may visualize, if it is not their karma to receive something
then they will not receive it. In my opinion we all have karmic lessons to learn. the other thing is that God, or the universe,
can not give us what we do not allow ourselves to have. The universe may be trying to give us what we are asking for but
we may be closed off to it because we are expecting it to come in some other particular way. So you gotta stay open to
all possibilities and opportunities, and keep in touch with your own intuition.

Don't think so. I've been waiting, praying, and wishing for God knows how long and still nothing.

Everything in this world seems to be about beating us down. It tells us we don't deserve, or we're not worthy of love, etc and then we should give our power away to authority figures, wishing they'll maybe notice us and take pity on us. You're supposed to be poor and struggling. It's your ego that wants more. Suffer alot. Be a grateful slave. Grovel in the dirt, it's so spiritual. Blah blah blah. It's all horshsh#t.

While it is true that if we pray to God he will grant us our wishes, it is not everything that he will give to you no matter how much you pray. If you ask God for permission to commit crime for example he won't grant you that, so is the case with some of the personal things that we ask God. If you aske him for a child but your path is "no children" he won't give you a child.
