I would have to slightly disagree with this statement, and I am not disagreeing with the rest of your assessment, I think it was overall great advice, and how lucky for Libs to get advice from a trainer on here.

The women I trained with are also advanced seasonal runners and fitness instructors. They never lift more than 10-15 pounds on each arm during our training and cardio classes. I don't do more than 8 pounds because I prefer a smaller leaner look. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, increasing metal also increases a strong desire for calorie intake. I also do ashtanga yoga, I can lift my body up over my head with two hands, I am no wimp ;) Planks and push ups ( which you mentioned) is great because your using your own body weight ( which is already over 100). I do strongly feel women can "bulk" up, I know this because this happened to me however, this is in part for not taking diet into account, which is most important and what people most fail at when starting a fitness program. 80 percent diet, 20 percent exercise

Just my two cents

my arms are flabby and i feel I've seen way more improvement in a few weeks of lifting 25 on each arm once a week at the gym and 5 lbs for each arm during the rest of the week at home than I ever have in weeks upon weeks of smaller weight at home

i've had some wine so hopefully that makes sense LOL

Wait, I have to convert it to kilos.

That's much more that I could do. I usually just use 15 dumbells with 4 sets of 15, but drop weight when I fail during the 4th set. I only use a 30 lb barbell too, and I can't do 4X15 with that either, so I drop to 22lb when I hit failure.

Haha. Squats will give you the perfect ample for that. It lifts it up and defines it, id look into the squat challanges you see online. If your gym offers Spinning Classes,I HIGHLY recommend them, now that is one type of machine that will shape and scuplt your body, particularty the buttucks. Hop on it Gem!

water, water, water. Best thing you do for your body I am on no specific 'diet' per se. For me, its all about portion control. Its not out of the ordinary to hear me say I eat garbage (pig skin, cheetos, verners haha). I don't eat that stuff all the time nor do I recommend it, I just dont like the idea of supressing yourself because I feel it will back fire in the long run. For me, its very important to limit calorie intake and control the portion. I eat small portions of any food, this includes veggies and fruits. Now, I am a short pettite shrimp, so what applies to me may be different for your body. Protien and carbs are very essential in my diet to maintain the work I do. Not sure how that works out for vegans.

My brother has lost 65 pounds this year on the no carb, Keto Diet He tells me he feels in the best condition he has ever felt

Right, I sometimes forget how weak I am - which is probably because I used to say the exact opposite.

I can't really do more than I'm doing already. I can only just do a squat, so I use the empty bar and lots of sets of 3 or 4 just to practice the posture.

I do the opposite and have a really strict diet. I weigh all my portions and eat 4 or 5 times a day, so it's not a hard diet, but it's all balanced to get the right protein carbs and fat. I'm trying to drop body fat without losing muscle.

Is that because big people with a lot of body fat can lose weithg fast, but people who just want to lost a bit of paunche can't lost it quickly - like, does it work in percentages?
