I've heard being born is a very painful experience for the baby as well as the mother. So our first experience emotions are based on pain. The old slap on the butt is old school. Many babies are born easily, naturally now without the slap, but rather coaxed into taking that first breath. That alone must be painful. Taking air into the lungs for the first time, and the act of strengthening those lungs with our continuous breath from that moment until we take our last.
Not to mention that may of us are very upset that we are incarnating again, and really don't want to be here. My daughter was one such person when she was born. She didn't stop crying until she began walking.
Off the subject, but dying is said to be pain-less. I intend to leave this world with a smile on my face if at all possible. Can't read the future, so I don't know what I will die from. But at least inwardly, I will have a smile on my heart and be saying, "At last!"

It's a good thought, but not really the right question. Because I was actually born without making much noise. And not much later I was smiling.
So I quess this complicates the situation a bit?
