Kyanite (
https://www.crystalvaults.com/crysta...opedia/kyanite) is a good stone that provides energy and balance. It's also great because it does not accept any negative energy (never needs cleansing), and produces its own energy (doesn't need to be charged). Kyanite is also good for charging your other crystals in a positive way.
Kyanite has a very fast paced energy.. or one that vibrates at a high frequency. The one I'm working with at the moment just keeps pumping it out relentlessly. If you want a quick recharge while balancing your chakras, get your hands on some.
I'll also add that trying one stone (such as Onyx) that feels horrible, doesn't necessarily mean that Onyx isn't a good stone for you. It means that that stone in particular didn't resonate with you.
I tend to 'feel' for crystals rather than looking for a specific type. If I'm buying, I grab something that draws my attention... that's the right crystal for me (especially if it's only $5 :P). Otherwise, I'm given them, or find them when I'm exploring; both of which is an indication that I need their energy in my life.
