Self cleaning crystals.

As far as I'm aware; selenite, citrine and kyanite were the crystals that didn't need cleansing.
However, in Judy Hall's Crystal Prescriptions book she lists Carnelian, Smokey Quartz and Black Tourmaline as self cleaning crystals/stones.
This is conflicting info to me, as I was surprised that the other 3 weren't listed (some do say Black Tourmaline can transmute negative to positive energy but still needs cleansing especially when used to absorb EMFs). I also feel smokey quartz needs cleansing if used for healing or grounding.

I have an EMF detector, that makes you think of the detectors they use in Chernobyl to detect radiation, anyway I placed it near my wifi and around a a good forearm radius around it, it was detecting lots of EMF radiation however after that range no problem (so if you use wifi, don't keep it close to you but have some distance).

What I want to say is that when I placed a piece of raw black tourmaline on the wifi, the detector went crazy and the radiation was amplified and higher than before! I am not sure black tourmaline blocks EMF, if anything from my test it amplified it. Have to test in future with Shungite and see if that one does that job.

As for everything you read in books and websites, take it with a grain of salt, I think over time there are layers of understanding in working with crystals that nobody can tell you in a way that you understand yourself unless time and experience you do yourself with crystals. I would most definitely cleanse smokey quartz, however it depends the use I guess.. black crystals such as obsidian if they absorb our negative energy etc, they will mirror it back to our psyche to show/make us dig for the root of the cause. Usually it's not pleasant to uncover unknown/unseen truths, but over time it leads to healing and growth. That doesn't mean I wouldn't cleanse it..

What, they make an EMF detector?
I always wear an orgonite necklace to repel EMF from my laptop in particular.
Who knows if it works ...or do I need FIVE around my neck!

I was taught that black tourmaline needs good cleansing as well for the reason you mention: it absorbs energies, does not transform them and let them go.

I've also had citrine needing deep cleansing btw, so this "does not need cleansing" isn't always true.
I prefer to go by my own intuition on whether or not a crystal needs cleansing. Not all of a variety, but specific crystals I have.

That's interesting, I kept a small raw black tourmaline piece near my modem for a long time thinking it would transmute any EMF. Then I moved it to my bedside table as there's a huge smart tv directly on the other side of the wall which picks up wifi signals for streaming.
I literally just use what crystals I am drawn to at a time from my collection and use the cleansing and charging methods I know of for them. I've been using grounding crystals a bit lately and just got one of those tree of life obsidian bracelets to help with inner work. Have cleansed it on selenite and it feels ok at the moment.

It is interesting learning of different experiences isn't it? You're probably right and I think some also need extra cleansing if used purely for healing physical ailments.

Not just physical ailments. Much of what affects crystals is emotional dense energy. Conflict, stress, difficult situations.
After I'd left my narcissistic ex my crystal and especially crystal skulls seemed to let out a sigh of relief and they needed quite some time to recover.
They'd held the energies as clear as possible for me, transformed a lot and they needed serious 'me' time after that.
They'd worked their behinds off for me, hihi.

And even when not in such a turbulent situation we mostly grab for a crystal when something is up, not necessarily physical.

One of my larger citrine needed cleansing and even comfort when it arrived. It stood on an small plate with water at its 'feet'.
I bought it from an American who needed to let go of many crystals in order to pay for his wife's medical bills.
The citrine was gorgeous, very joyful energy, feels a bit like a young spirit, but it was hurting from having to leave that man.
It needed lots of TLC and getting used to not being with him anymore.

Wow, I would have thought when we're dealing with emotional issues and traumas (in theory) physical ailments would reduce in the sense that root causes are possibly being worked on if that makes sense? You must have some very powerful crystals to say the least!

Some people want to do away with EMF but that would eliminate WIFI, radio, regular TV broadcast and cell phones.

But if they are dead set in doing it, what they need is a faraday cage. They are easy to make. I had one home in which I bought the material to make one..... but never implemented it.

I worked at several places where EMF was tested. Interesting field.

As for orgonite...... I would say a person would need a lot of it to make an effective EMF 'shield'.

But then, it is very easy to 'see' if orgonite is effective.
