Yes, sensing and feeling are similar in my opinion. Intuiting in the quiet mind sounds even more accurate.

how do you differentiate between feeling (as you use it above) and emotion? JL

Emotions may be present but we may not be in touch with them, we may not be feeling them. This can happen when a person stuffs their feelings about certain emotions. A person with a flat affect is usually not in touch with their emotions.

In my opinion it is all us, and there are many aspects of ourselves that we are not conscious of. Everything is energy, including us, we are kin, and that is not necessarily the right word, to everything that is.

I had to do, and am still doing, a lot of emotional work on myself. Sensing and feeling emotions which I once hide from. The human race is in its' infancy when it comes to learning how to work with our emotions.

Our sense of touch is the primordial sensation on which all of our other senses are based. Spiritually it is said that we are one, or that we are all connected, which is another way of saying joined or "touching" each other and everything else. The largest organ that the physical body has is the skin, and among other things, it allows us to touch this physical world and things in it.

Not physically but on a deeper level, when I speak of "our feeling nature," or our ability to feel, I am talking about being sensitive to our connection to all things. Our ability to feel can become so refined that it goes beyond emotion. Just like we can quiet our mind and go beyond thought. A growing awareness brings with it a greater sensing ability.

A person can be at the doctorate level mentally but at the kindergarten level emotionally, but it is not my place to judge. The interaction between thoughts and emotions are fascinating, but thoughts and emotions also have and effect on our physical body, blood pressure, etc.

Hi onehope, and welcome to the forum. I do not communicate with “past souls,”
but maybe some in the “Channeling” section might be able to help.

When you say it is us, isn’t it, it is but it isn’t? Do you identify with that which is beyond all that is felt, sensed, seen etc - yet is also all of that?

Re: your last paragraph sometimes I think that is me. Is there anything you sense re: me that you can willingly share?

Thanks,
jl

In conscious sleep, one is just as relaxed as the unconscious sleeper. The only difference is awareness.

At the Khumba Mela in Haridwar, I met a yogi who never slept in the traditional supine position because he practiced conscious sleep and was always very relaxed with a clear mind.

(I personally asked him how he did it and, after looking at me for a while, simply responded "chetan nidra" --- conscious sleep.)

To each their own.

Are you aware of the research done by Dr. Bruce Greyson of the University of Virginia on "Consciousness Independent of the Brain" ?

I've read various articles on the subject but Bruce Greyson does not ring any bells. Something else to check out.

Peace

I think that you may enjoy the Bruce Greyson video. As a professor emeritus in Psychiatric at the University of Virginia, his research is very credible and thought-provoking.
