Where Do We Go at Death if not heaven or hell?

Where Do We Go at Death if not to heaven or hell?

This question is easily answered if one is Buddhist, Hindu or Sikh: you come back for another ride on the Wheel of Life and Death.

At the Council of Nicea in 325 CE, the Church prohibited the doctrine of reincarnation and so Christians are not allowed to believe.

Nevertheless, the evidence can be pretty persuasive: Simply GOOGLE "10 Mysterious Kids Who Remember Their Past Lives" and discover many, many more children than ten who can remember their past life before the memory begins to fade in childhood.

Perhaps it is time to begin a campaign urging the Papacy to reconsider the 325 CE decision on its merits?

' This question is easily answered if one is Buddhist '

That's incorrect Untersberg, you don't come back if you reach Nirvana which is Buddhist's ultimate Spiritual goal. Reincarnation doesn't exist in Buddhism, it is Rebirth.

Reincarnation was removed from the Bible to control the masses.

Dr Ian Stevenson is an expert on Reincarnation research, he has spent his life time travelling all over the world gathering evidence, his research papers and books are amazing.

Sky, Rebirth and Reincarnation is not the same?
if you have a few minutes can you define those terms?

In my understanding, reincarnation, the body dies, and spirit disconnects, and will, if it chooses to come into an other life, connect to and other physical form, a body.

Sorry Christians if I create waves in your waters.

I'll try

Buddhists don't believe in a soul or anything permanent that is reincarnated.
Rebirth is a belief that a 'Being' is reborn with limited awareness of previous lives but no characteristics of our previous selves except the continuation of our individual behaviour and karmic tendencies. So rebirth is a ' Fresh Start ' or a ' Second chance ' to work through Karmic lessons and achieve Nirvana.

In 325 CE Nicea you say. Interesting, I am assuming you were there.

No ruffling of waters, we are born of Spirit. We do ruffle our own waters at baptism.

Reincarnation matters not to me I was known before the foundation of the world. Also I have already been reborn or born again in this life. Received a new heart and a new mind. Plus I have the mind of Christ.
I fear not death or reincarnation, things of this world matter little.

I'll bite the hook is this a Christian thread zone. I welcome you here but I thought students of Buddha would be more compassionate.

Chopping wood then enlightenment then hang out in a Christian thread zone.

untersberg-you post your question in a Christian forum-Christians believe in 2 places one goes after death-heaven or hell.

I don't think you will get an answer to your question in a Christian forum because of what Christians believe. perhaps you could post it in other spiritual forums as they might be able to answer your question.

I can kind of understand your point. Christians probably come here thinking "I can't wait to hammer it out with other Christians" and then they see us here. They're probabably thinking What the ****!!!!

Whether a person believes in reincarnation or not, we all come into this world as a Soul. One could argue that Spirit is something which has to be acquired. The Soul is given free will in regards to how it chooses to ascend. This poem by Rumi sums up how I feel about it:

When you see the face of anger
look behind it
and you will see the face of pride.
Bring anger and pride
under your feet, turn them into a ladder
and climb higher.
There is no peace until you become
their master.
Let go of anger, it may taste sweet
but it kills.
Don't become its victim
you need humility to climb to freedom.

Can you provide the document were the Church prohibited reincarnation?
