A Life of Spiritual Encounters

Hi thar. My entire life has been full of spiritual experiences. I haven't always known what to do about them except try to incorporate them into my life and decisions. Most people don't really "get it" when I try to talk to them about it. So I guess joining a place like this is the next logical step.

I grew up in a Christian home in Canada. Very loving parents, but I think I was always a bit different than most kids. I saw the world in a different way, and also saw into the spirit world from time to time. I have just tried to have a humble attitude toward it and learn from what God wants to show me through these experiences. Is it God? Sometimes I don't know, but well... probably. My ideas about religion and the spirit world have changed somewhat over the years, as I learn more about different cultures and traditions.

Here is a brief list of SOME of what has happened to me:

Age 4-5: My first recollections of a pre-life memory where I looked out on the earth from a large cavernous room, surrounded by energy beings.
Age 6-8: Saw an apparition of a face of some kind of malevolent being, and a floating scroll with hieroglyphs.
Age 6-10: Repeated dreams about a girl across a large body of water. My soul would fly over the water each time to go visit her. She had short brown hair. I later married a girl from Europe, and saw a childhood pic of her, and she looked the same as who I saw in the dreams.
Age 24: Transported into a vision-state where a voice spoke to me about my future.
Age 26-Today: Began having regular "synchronicities" in large bunches
Age 32: During a high fever, the "secrets of everything" were revealed to me. Upon recovering, all of it got wiped from my memory.
+ countless cryptic, almost psychedelic dreams, and other stuff I'm not gonna list here.

Many times elements of my experiences indicated that even though I was born into a Christian family, *I* am something else. I still believe in many of these core ideas of God, but there are many other traditions which I relate to, and native imagery often popped up even well before I got into actually studying it. These days, I tend to think there is something in most every culture that is worth a look, and through examining this rich spiritual tapestry of the world as a whole, we get a clearer picture of the beyond.

If you've read this far, thanks. Hopefully my time here will be of mutual benefit.

Wow S.I.M., a bunch of what you have shared is so similar to my own life story. The Christian background but feeling and seeing life differently especially. I have worked with groups or one or two friends who 'speak the same language,' but found my plate has been cleared of such companions again. So here I am and it feels good being among such an open community. Welcome!
