It can be very sad when we lose our feathered friends. I had a sun conure and a lineolated parakeet. Fond memories. You'll pull through this.

The cry out was just saying goodbye is all, like a thank you, its not pain when leaving its more that letting you know. I have worked with both people and animals from time to time when they are leaving, and this is common that cry out release its the Soul leaving is all.
I found a blessing that is very calming. I have read this over the years in readings. Death is not an ending its a new beginning. In that we carry forth with us that memory.
Traditional Buddhist Blessing
Just as the soft rains fill the streams,
pour into the rivers and join together in the oceans,
so may the power of every moment of your goodness
flow forth to awaken and heal all beings,
Those here now, those gone before, those yet to come.
By the power of every moment of your goodness
May your heart's wishes be soon fulfilled
as completely shining as the bright full moon,
as magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem.
By the power of every moment of your goodness
May all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.
May you enjoy fulfillment and long life.
For all in whose heart dwells respect,
who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way,
May your life prosper in the four blessings
of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.

Thank you for this post, Lynn. It's beautiful as well as insightful. I actually tried to read my bird after he died and etc. Thank you all for your beautiful words. I apologize that I am late and just now seeing this... and your words are very helpful. I do believe love goes on even after death.. in our hearts..
Also, the picture of your lovebird almost made me cry. What a cutie! RIP to your bird as well..
