A Healthy Body Makes A Healthy Mind

This is my fourth year of being a gym member and after a small break (because of excessive work ruining my life LOL) going back really has made me realise how much exercise sorts out your well being and your peace of mind.

I had forgotten how much I get lost in thought on the x trainer and how positive thoughts flow over me as I begin to sweat.

So yes, I think the old adage has it the wrong way around - a healthy body makes a healthy mind (and spirit!)

Matt

It's a balance of both, as they both effect each other. Because you will not be able to motivate yourself to get to a gym unless you have a healthy enough mind ;)

Some of my best meditation times have occurred on the cross trainer. That's when I'm not plugged into the telly and I allow the mind to roam free.

I always feel so much better from having built up a sweat and burnt off some stress.

Certainly agree with that.

Exercise helps boost the immune system, is great for cardio/circulation and you sleep better.

Even better if the exercise is outside with exposure to fresh air and sunshine.

Couldnt agree more. the only thing I would add is exposure to plants and friendly animals and being in their close proximity refreshes your mind too.

It is reality mate, a healthy body has a healthy mind. So it is compulsory to take care of health. Eat preferably organic, diversify your diet. Avoid junk foods. Do regular exercise, it is so essential for improving fitness level.

When i was younger, I was a fitness fanatic, i loved it, thrived on it, even up until my early 50's......then menopause struck......i have no motivation to exercise now, its seems like such a chore......i just can't seem to get my mojo back for it.......from fit and healthy to getting old and quite unfit......how the body changes.....i never in a million years would have thought that the menopause could have such a life changing effect on my whole being.....especially motivational/exercise wise.......

Hi Matt,
Agree with you that a healthy body makes a healthy mind and for healthy body and mind we must exercise regularly and watch what we eat. Add chocolate, fish, oyster, nuts, seeds, whole grains, eggs, berries and leafy green vegetables more in your daily meals.

No doubt that healthy body makes a healthy mind. For this purpose we should eat well and balanced healthy food only to make our body healthy. For a better and healthy body exercise is also beneficial.
