Just as here - - in this world - - even in this forum - - there are people that are "after" you - - so are there entities that would love to "get" you if they can.
What you say is unquestionably true. But - - just as you get better at recognizing untruth - - so do others get better and handing you a con.
As you say - - they best solution - - be aware.
The old saying - - ignorance is bliss - - is true to a point. But it has to be balanced with "what you don't know CAN hurt you ! !"
Again - - be aware.
I'm not here to scare anyone. Just - - be aware. For the most part - - that's why I offered the suggestion to know where one wishes to go or what they might wish to do or whom they might wish to meet. Focus. Being aware. If one knows and holds to that - - they can travel far.
