Developing psychic/medium abilities?

Thanks for the replies and the words of encouragement.

My spiritual psychic development circle last night was awesome. It was so refreshing to be around non judgmental people who are there to support you and help you grow spiritually. But perhaps the best thing is that is a place where I can practice and develop my abilities and have a chance to have them VALIDATED.

My abilities are very weak now but as I discovered they do exist and it was very encouraging. When we opened the circle, one of the ways we could read someone was to focus on them. As soon as I looked at a woman in my group the word "quilt" came to mind. I told her and she said it was a word that had meaning and pertained to her mother, but didn't tell me much other than that. Then I focused on another woman and oddly the word "poodle" popped into my head. I told her about it and she was quite surprised because she was also new to the circle and said that her daughter had been wanting a new dog recently and was seriously considering a poodle. It was just so weird how I knew this stuff. I learned that I have to go with my gut and trust my intuition. I can't wait to practice more!

Nice! I'm an empath too. Thanks! I'm more focused on mediumship but I find that both that and the empathy go hand-in-hand.

Dunno if you're familiar with Bashar, the channeled ET entity.
He loves the term telempathic , and it has a broader connotation ,since we can & do receive "information" many ways, though one or two may seem dominant in different individuals.

I seem to receive most information through a knowing, through the oneness. Though I'm moderately clairvoyant, a bit less clairaudient, depending on the situation.
in a one to one reading ,everything seems to open up.
(when i trulyforget myself ...ah yes grasshopper... I see that now)

You don't have to have a circle to practice, though it's immensely useful to have a supportive situation. Especially if opening to mediumship-spirit communication, a safe protected setting is recommended.

However one can practice intuitive reading with anyone truly open to it.
Just as you would when chatting with a trusted friend, and get intuitive hunches.

I'd rarely done this myself and lost out on useful practice by depending wholly on our church circles....

One young SF member practices with her kid sister,(varied psychic, healing skills) and has profited by the loving support... course they're extraordinarily gifted with remarkable abilities.
Many of the young kids can do amazing stuff.

Apparently everyone is born with them but because of life they kind of shut down as they dont get used. There are different kinds of abilities and some are stronger than others. I find this website quite good it tells you how you can develop them and which are your strongest ones.

I guess that's what happened to me. Everything used to come so naturally and effortlessly when I was a child. I somehow shut it all off when I was in my late teens.

And now I'm struggling to figure it all out again. Where's the on switch?

Should probably stop telling myself I'm insane though, as a start.
