R.I.P. Gene Wilder

Many of his fans will know him as 'Willy Wonka' from 'The Chocolate Factory', but for me, he will always be known for his role as Avram Belinski in The Frisco Kid.

A great actor, producer and director. A very funny man with a deep, kind and gentle soul - he was a part of my childhood growing up, especially in his role as Young Frankenstein.

His collaboration with Mel Brooks on Blazing Saddles is to be noted. Blazing Saddles and History Of The World Part 1 gave me endless laughs as a child and we created many of our own memes from theses shows like 'speak louder, even a deaf person can hear you'.

Anyway, R.I.P. Gene, you'll be warmly and fondly remembered. He died due to complications from Alzheimer's yesterday at age 83.

A great actor, comedian and showman.
And a charming end to his life, in that he kept his illness a secret as he 'simply couldn't bear the thought of one less smile in the world.' What a wonderful mindset.

Amazing Actor and Comedian, always successful at showing our dreamlike walking state here to be most fraudulent and therefore funny/hilarious. :) RIP Gene Wilder.

I used to be less of a people-person, or rather just not a human-person, as I used to only grieve species beside my own....But lately, the death of a beloved actor, an acquaintance losing a cousin, it all brings a tear to my eye. RIP

I'm not too hip on those internet memes, but I've seen one of Willy Wonka making snarky comments; figure y'all know which one I'm talking about. Just saw it again with him saying something like "So today I died. Guess everyone is gonna say what a big fan they are now." Think Gene might've thought that meme was funny....?
