I would suggest embracing your fears as they come up. Don't run. Just stand there and let it go through you. It's scary, but from what I've experienced, it's only when we run from fear that we encounter problems.

Edit: I just thought of a metaphor that I experienced just recently. It fits.

It's like a tent in a wind-storm. With your rainfly on, you are resisting this wind (the fear you feel). The solution is NOT to tie the rainfly on tighter. Your tent will collapse. The solution is to take the rainfly OFF, therefore letting the wind pass through the windows of your tent. Let your fear pass through.
