New to Yoga

So, I've just begun to enjoy Yoga, but there are a few poses in when my lower body trembles quite significantly. I do have some trouble with my hips being sore (I stand on my feet all day at work), which is one of the reasons I decided to try Yoga. I came to the distinct realization today that the muscles around my hips must be very weak.

I was wondering if anyone else has had experiences like this and how long it took for them to resolve.

I am new to Yoga myself and can share in you experiences of having difficulty with some of the exercises. Which i think is a good thing, room for growth and understanding :)

Yep. While holding the poses the muscles and tendons were not used to position and
length of time of contraction, which affected the nervous system, causing the trembling. With practise the trembling diminishes.

Nice. :-)

I already notice a difference in the way my body feels. As difficult as it is right now, I like the rewards and I keep telling myself I deserve the time I am taking to be good to my body and mind. I am definitely committed.

Good for you EarthyGirl - it's a very natural and physical reaction that you are going through.

May you find joy and freedom in your yoga.
