Very interesting indeed! I can't say that your title of the thread does your story or the contents any good though, although it did get me to open it. I enjoyed it and will contemplate more inspired by it, thank you!

Remember the truism WHAT YOU RESIST PERSISTS. So what you dislike, hate, fear and pay negative attention to, will manifest in your life; usually because you have a lot of emotion invested in the thoughts. This is why things like ANTI WAR DEMOS just attract more war, because they are pushing against the word WAR, paying attention to it, and attracting more.

Mother Theresa once said that she didn’t want to be invited to any anti-war rallies, but to pro-peace ones instead. She understood the Law of Attraction.

Start now to focus on what you actually DESIRE TO HAPPEN, and the more you can do this, the more it will manifest. At first you will get small signs and developments, but as you do this more, the developments will become increasingly relevant and substantial.

The mind is a powerful tool.if you focus too much on Negative thoughts you will attract more Negativity,
I know its not always possible but trying to say positive affermations will serve you much better.

When you acknowledge the fact that you concentrating on a negative thought and it can create more. It is already a first step of changing the pattern of your thoughts,
I believe you have to understand the fact that it’s normal for you to think In a negative way and it’s just a habit (that was with you since your early ages Probably). It can be fixed with time and effort,
The important thing is not to control it, coz when you try it Brings frustration,better accept it and understand it’s not you it’s your old habit that is old you, not who you are anymore.

Hi, I politely disagree.
I would say the exact opposite, from over a decade of experience. And others here have disagreed with me on this.

I had to control my neg thoughts at one time in my life...they were leading to a pit of depression after an 11 yr relationship break up.
So, I practiced Thought Control at the advice of a therapist dear friend.
And Voila!
No frustration...I just changed the ''channel'' and thought of something else!
After a week - I never stopped. :)
As opposed to 'frustration', I was empowered.
Changed my life! How?

I am no longer a slave to any random thoughts that can float into my head.

Oh sure, That’s wonderful if it worked for you. you probably very easy going person as well.
What I meant Is sometimes when we try to control our thoughts or emotions , instead we hide it deep down subconscious and in conscious mind we think we healed. But if anything significant triggers you , we are back to our negative emotion once again. And anything you couldn’t control will frustrate you.
So letting it live through sometimes helps to release and heal it.
But of course it’s only my opinion ))
and I read this book called “diagnostic of karma” so author talks about releasing your deep emotional trauma, that brings negatives thoughts etc . it’s really interesting and helped me a lot,

I agree. Sweeping triggers under the carpet...no good.
(Lived with therapists for 25 years, all my friends are therapists and I've Been in therapy! I know, Lol).
'Thought Control' is different than, say, processing childhood
traumas and deep psychological wounds.

Cyclical thinking, ruminating on negative thoughts, (jealousy, fear, blaming, worry, vengeance, anxieties, angers,
sadness, addictions, pride, indignation...),
these are helped with Thought Control, for example.

While I am here...the Admins have asked when we quote others quote 3 sentences tops...
you can ref the post # if that helps. I know, it's weird.

This thread's premise (#1) is important, and this recent exchange is informative(#15-18).

I believe that negative thoughts and negative emotions are detrimental, always. There is no downside in substituting them immediately as we are aware of them, and in time this becomes the new, better "normal".

I don't believe that "negativity" is normal, or a default. It is acquired through education, and social interaction. Surely, to diminish and eliminate negativity you have to want it and believe you can do it.
