Drawn into Native American Spirituality

I have always been fascinated by Native American culture and I grew up knowing that I am 1/16 Cherokee. My mother gave me a wounded bear necklace a year ago, which I consider a powerful source of protection when I wear it. I believe in the importance of connecting with nature and animals, however, beyond that I had not explored much else in Native American culture until yesterday.

As fate would have it, my boyfriend just inherited a lot of his late brother's belongings, one of which being a deck of Sacred Path cards and a book on how to interpret these cards. I was immediately drawn to these cards, maybe because I am becoming tuned into my own deck of tarot. It felt as though these cards wanted me to get acquainted with them, so I did. First, I looked through the entire deck and got a feel for the meaning behind each card. Then, I looked through the book and chose a simple spread. My reading was incredibly correct and zeroed in on my specific challenges and ways to overcome them. I look forward to utilizing these cards more in the future! Something about them speaks to me and my spirituality, so I am taking this as a indication that I should explore this wonderful door that has been opened for me.

Has anyone here used the sacred path cards or have any advice on aspects of Native American I should explore? I am here to learn, explore, and honor this culture.

Ya'at'eeh, I an a Navajo Indian and I too, have the Sacred Path Cards, and even used Tarot Cards. I have used then to do readings on the Reservation.

None of these tools I would call Native American, even though they use native theme images and interpretations. But they are valid when used to understand one self and examine problems from different points of view. I call them "Psychological Flash Cards".

Before Columbus, spirituality within the tribes were rich and varied, and there was no one definition of "Native American Spirituality". So in modern times be careful, many will mislead you.

You can PM me with you want work with me and your readings.

Rainbow

Question for anyone: Earlier I was on another thread and posted...
I Am making positive changes
I Am moving forward
I Am capable

Had to get off the PC for a bit and as I was putting on a pot of beans to cook and I took time to thank the Great Spirit Most High for my positive changes and my decision to move forward and I thanked the Great Spirit that I was capable. Went back to my beans and I heard a bird making a loud calling outside....I ran outside to see what the bird was calling so loud for, I looked up and SAW a RAINBOW cloud in the East....I am in the USA and it was eastern time, DST a little after 9:00 AM (nature's time 8:00 AM) I was stunned, it was not raining, it is a beautiful morning with blue sky and white clouds. I ran inside to tell my granddaughter to come and look at the small rainbow cloud, she saw it and said that is strange....I said, that is magic:) I stood on the fount porch and looked at the small rainbow cloud in awe until it disappeared.

I am new at this sacred path of the Red Man.....to the natives, what is a rainbow symbolic of?
