Not being used to being female

I'm female, but I don't feel comfortable with it. I think I was male in most of my past lives and I miss having that male energy. I know I'm not transgender because this incarnation definitely has a lot of feminine energy. It feels right to look feminine, but I often feel like there's something lacking about me. I just feel so weak and dull in this body.

If you're not eating right, sleeping regularly, doing some sort of strenuous exercise, working too hard, enduring relational duress, are ill, or somehow otherwise unbalancing the mental/physical/spiritual triad, you'd tend to feel weak and dull. I'm certain women have the same sort of vitality as do men, and your described lower than optimum levels thereof is not due to being a female.

If you were male in a number of your last incarnations you will feel uncomfortable as a female in this one. It's a whole different way of looking at life and the world.

I've read that we have a general preference but sometimes there are lessons we can only learn as the opposite sex.

Sex in Spirits
200. Have spirits sex?
“Not as you understand sex; for sex, in that sense, depends on the corporeal organisation. Love and sympathy exist among them, but founded on similarity of sentiments."
201. Can a spirit, who has animated the body of a man, animate the body of a woman in a new existence, and vice versa ?
"Yes; the same spirits animate men and women."
202. Does a spirit, when existing in the spirit-world, prefer to be incarnated as a man or as a
woman?
"That is a point in regard to which a spirit is indifferent, and which is always decided in view of the trials which he has to undergo in his new corporeal life."
Spirits incarnate themselves as men or as women, because they are of no sex and, as it is necessary for them to develop themselves in every direction, both sexes. as well as every variety of social position. furnish them with special trials and duties, and with the opportunity of acquiring experience. A spirit
who had always incarnated itself as a man would be only known by men, and vice versa.

Hang in there. It is probably because you were male often in past lives. I have a friend who is African American in this life, and she never was before. It's difficult for her.

I've read that we have a general preference but sometimes there are lessons we can only learn as the opposite sex.

I had always assumed I must have had aeons of lives as women after the first few as men...and I did recall my last lifetime, which was as a woman, oppressed and living on the margins of society, who died young with her children.

It's only been very recently I've come to realise that these half dozen or so lives are likely all or nearly all my past lives...and whilst I feel completely comfortable as a woman, well-integrated and heart-centred, and never gave it a moment's thought...nonetheless I realise now that it's my varying past lives first as men and then as women which may have contributed to my extremely well honed sense of justice and injustice in this lifetime. Precisely because the experiences are so vastly different.

For it's quite true that no matter where or when in existence we are, it's not only the perspectives different for humanity as men versus as women. It's also very much the actual life experiences themselves which are are vastly different for men and women throughout time and space, and I don't just mean pregnancy versus soldiering. I mean that the daily experiences of dehumanisation, contempt, and disrespect, and of oppression, degradation, and constant threat of rape or assault by men because of your womanhood and your vulnerability are simply not experienced by men -- even though we realise certain other forms of brutality (such as slaughter, imprisonment, and torture) do not discriminate.

These 180 degree differences in experiences as men and as women apply everywhere and every "when" -- but these differences are particularly relevant where/when the societies are less spiritually evolved, such as our own earthly societies up through the present day.

Peace & blessings

I think I get what you mean. I'm not transgender or anything, I feel like a cute little girl, but I've always hated it. Makeovers and manicures absolutely terrify and dumbfound me. Between the ages of 4 and 13, I'd always make believe I was a boy. If I even wanted to be human that day.

The only past life I think I remember is male. I've always felt more masculine, and I prefer active tomboyish loner women or the petite long-haired feminine hairy cavemen as partners. Not sure why I'm a woman now. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe I was an evil man once, but I know I'm not here to give birth. I'd rather pass a kidney stone like my boyfriend, at least I wouldn't have to raise it for 18 years.

But look on the bright side, there must be some upside to being female! You have more socially acceptable clothing options, long hair is more acceptable on women, kidney stones are less likely, we have PMS as an excuse to be crabby....Everything has a silver lining! :) The purpose of life is to learn what we can from every situation.

I know you said that you're not transgender, but I've wondered if that was the case with some transgender people. It's their first time being the opposite sex and they're still unconsciously clinging on to the gender from their previous lives. That's just my theory.
