Laughing From Meditation

Hi guys, I've picked up meditation again recently but I started a little more than a year ago (wish I kept up with it). Today was an interesting session for me. I was meditating and trying my best to observe my thoughts and I had this one thought / memory that happened in the past and couldn't help but smile. It kind of threw me off after when this happen, but I continued to meditate anyways.

Does this happen to anybody else and should this happen at all? I can't help my fixate on that moment.

I do laugh when I am in "meditation" sessions, but for a different reason. I usually do something more like channeling rather than meditation, so the laughs come from the conversations.

I knew a guy once who used to make himself laugh every morning as part of a spiritual discipline.....

But yours sounds like a much better idea! One of the nicest things we can do is genuinely laugh in a happy and natural way.

The last time I laughed through meditation was with an awareness of drawing breath just beneath the clavicles. Funny how the two words, clavicles and laugh, are closely related.

Laughing is good!
Enjoying sitting in silence is good!
Fixating, pondering, contemplating one thought or memory that brings a smile is good!
Accepting the happiness is good!

It is not what I call meditation...it is enjoying a thought or memory...
which is good!!

That's my input.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
