A few weeks ago I had a dream where I saw a woman who I think is my guide. In the dream she is in a country/rural setting and I am seeing her from quite a distance. In the dream, I'm watching her as though watching a moving screen and she is too far anyway to talk to. I see her looking back sadly at her homestead and I immediately get the feeling that she was sad about leaving home and also that she had been kicked out of her home. Expelled.

At the time, I was going through some strenuous family relations caused by my calling (traditional healing/shamanic) and I felt that she was showing me something to help me through the hard time. I'm not sure what other message to glean from this except that she was showing me something that had happened to her, maybe.

I also got the feeling that this event had occured a very long time ago. Maybe about a century ago, judging from how she was dressed and how she had decorated her face.

a spiritual guide is typically "right with" a person, i take it, as if they're just
over your shoulder. for you to witness such a scene as in your dream, it's
meant that you not attempt to interact with things... it's like viewing a
snapshot of some past experience; you can't make changes.
the idea behind this dream might be several things. one thought is that you
were shown your guide at a low point, so that you could recognize that bad
times won't impede your own progress (since she'd come through her test).
another thought is that you cannot interfere with the scene at this time,
because you were already involved with the event in the moment... you may
have been acting as a spirit guide to your friend in her time of need, and
she's shown you that your bond extends deeply. just a possibility.

Thank you both for your responses. There is actually a lot that resonates with both responses. As it turned out, soon after the dream, my family relations naturally ironed out, and solely because I had stopped fighting everybody, trying to make them see/believe what I was going through. I'm not sure how I did it, but I did manage to transform all that angry energy into a loving, understanding and patient one.

H.O.R.A.C.E, I did think that the dream could have been meant as some solace - to show me that this type of thing does happen and that I should remain strong.

the exact method for this specific circumstance is of less importance than
the knowledge that you hold the intent to perform such a transformation.
if you were to face another similar dynamic of conflicted energies, your
knowledge of having that intent may be all you need to provide you with
the means to reconciling that challenge as well. i believe that as your
intentions strengthen, it may be the case that such tests of your will
don't even arise... they would be dispelled before coalescing and arising
to your conscious awareness.

I can't wait till I can do this properly because it has been very useful in balancing my usually very emotional reactions. To me its absolutely amazing that I can feel this as an energy which is malleable to me. If I knew this trick 20 years ago it would have been really nice.
