Cryptids!

For those who don't know, cryptids are creatures that in our world are not known to truly exist, but many believe they do exist or have existed recently. They're creatures most of us know already, like Sasquatch or Nessie.

I was just thinking, there are a lot of cryptids out there. I want to know if anyone knows of any interesting cryptids, ones that maybe aren't too common among the legends on the net or in books.

An interesting one is the Hedley Kow, from northern England. It could take on the form of anything, just seemingly out of a sense of humour. For eg. a bundle of firewood which its unsuspecting victim would carry home with great difficulty only to have it transform and run away. Or a man's girlfriend walking across the moor, he would follow her and end up mired in a deep bog, to the Kow's great amusement.

An unknown variety of "Mantis Shrimp" discovered.

Years ago I was driving home at night and in the headlights I saw an animal on the side of the road that looked something like a Bilby ,only it was much larger and seemed more thick set. Bilby are small creatures and this was the size of a medium size dog.

I've never seen anything like it again. Would that be classed as a cryptid?
