Alfie, you have to face one thing - now and in the future. When you "make up" after a break up, things rarely get better unless the offender can show true penitence in some way. Things will soon revert to old bahviours, old quarrels and there's rarely anything long-term or good because there's no meeting of souls, just a scorpion dance through life. Some people find a certain satisfaction in this, the masochists - abused or not they are acknowledged and feel some kind of perverse purpose. If that's what you want then no one here is in a position to change your mind. But your posts so far suggest that it isn't.

If dreams bother you, you can deal with them. You can doggedly program yourself not to dream of him by programming some other dream, starting early in the evening then visualising what you'd like to dream as you get toward bed time. It's an art in itself and there's probably a bit on the "dreams" section here about how to do it.

But the real answer is give him the boot. Decide you aren't going to be his doormat and go out of your way to distract yourself, whether taking up a hobby or finding someone (at this stage) to idolise. Forget about blocking and unblocking, faceache and whatever. Just go out and be on this new date! Good luck with it.

The main problem here is that people believe in fairies, in one and true love, and things like that happen once in a blue moon. However, our wrong beliefs leave us miserable and insecure. Try to do everything possible to get over him, that's the best advice I could give you.
