I think you're right, desert rat, that a lot of people aren't interested in the world of spirits and other paranormal activity unless books/movie scare the pants off of them.

The paranormal is about the unknown and a lot of it we don't totally understand. Some of it can be scary, some of it is comforting (depends on the situation).
