My inner child gets my outer adult to cut a hole in the closet door with a suitably noisy and raucous power tool then sticks my/our un-pimpled bum out the hole and sings a fart song...

" Let me out, let me be crude, rude and I will laugh your socks on!"

Yes... I checked the forums to see if someone has posted something like this so I can just add to it, but there wasn't one...

Me too :( All these bills, bosses, co-workers, legal matters, etc... Sigh... Can't blame people for "Growing Up"...

Would be nice to be a kid again :)

And nah, can't get along with children either, unless they're babies, like 1 year or less. For some reason I talk to kids as though they were grown-ups... Yet I baby-talk some adults I trust... Hahaha... :P

It works for me ,

I was thinking similar in that maybe those of us who never had children have had less opportunity to be as a child.

It's becoming more frequent since your Ho'oponopono thread... and my friend says we all have a child within us... it reminds me of the Cat Stevens song.

I didn't really feel I had a childhood as I was quite a serious kid. I think I'm still pretty much the same as I always was! Although, if I could have my way re allowing myself to play/experience childhood in the way that would work for me, it would be the opportunity to be listened to and understood. Maybe allowed to avoid what hurt me instead of being reasoned with/persuaded so often. (As in having to go to school etc).

I like this thread/idea and will put more thought into it over the weekend.

Does the inner child speak in our dreams? I've heard somewhere that it does, but when I dream I'm not a child, I'm an adult. I don't really know what my inner child is saying. All I know is the deep emotions that come up in me.

I don't know how to relate to children either, never had one and didn't have much of a childhood.

I don't know how to relate to the pack mentality/social status ladder and nor did I as a child. So much of that small talk and sarcasm eluded me and I couldn't have faked it if my life had depended on it. I was always more interested in studying the behaviors going on around me and focusing my efforts in school work.

Hmmm I am not sure, but now that you mention it, my dreams are almost always situated in the house I grew up in that I have left a long time ago... Maybe something about my inner child and that house...

This made me think of something that happened to me a couple of months ago. I was laying on my back meditating before I went to sleep one evening. I don't think I was feeling all that great anyway, and I think I was being a little forceful with the meditation.

I started to drift off to sleep in a meditative state when I suddenly heard as loud as anything from within a baby crying. It was like I was a baby crying out from within myself as loud and real as anything, which woke me straight up. I don't know what it was, but it felt like my inner child, or inner self was in distress.
