I don't want to hurt your feelings but he's five and only started talking 6 months ago? It would probably be best to have him tested for autism or maybe a hearing problem as you must know most children start talking way before that. That way if something's amiss you'll find out about it and if everything is well with him then that will be a relief for you. It's great that you can communicate with him but as he grows up he's going to have to learn to communicate with other people otherwise he's going to be left out of a lot of things which will be upsetting for him.

And to ignore his nursery teacher all day is just simply rude, as he gets further on in regular school he won't be able to get away with that kind of behaviour I'm sure.

It wouldn't hurt to have him tested.

Hi,

Most likely you have a telepathic and or empathic bond with your child. I suggest you explain this to the social service worker(s) and inquirer about the assistance they wish to provide.

Yes they do wish to define your child as a problem. Children like yours are a problem for the systems of education we use.

I suggest that you do your best to stay calm, listen and then speak your mind. Insist on working with telepathic doctors or social workers. You want some one as qualified to work with your child as you have been.

John

You're refusing professional intervention because you think your child is "crystal"???

The kid isn't the second coming of Christ, let him get the help he might actually need...

Hello

From the other end of the spectrum, I have been in a fight to get my child diagnosed since the age of 6 years old. Now at 13 I finally have got there. He got a general diagnosis at 8 but the Govt tossed that one out so he had no help in school. I had to fight again and I got the "Autism Spectrum Diagnosis" and its not that bad honestly.

Do the best for your child. I faced many issues having children like me that well "see dead people" and I was understood with that aspect of them, but too there was more than just that with one child. I embraced that aspect.

Imo, I would let the specialist and doctor's take a look at him. It's common for teachers in that specific age group to recommend specialist and do pre testings. It's called early intervention and it's best to catch problem's early,so children have the tools and resources to learn to the best of their ability, rather than falling behind. And really,it could be nothing, some kids in that age group are really shy and are learning to deal with separating from the home.

My daughter (turned 5) was reticently recommended to see a specialist to "test" her. She's FINE.My girl is angry/withdrawn that we moved and took her out of an all day curriculum and put her in a new school,so she's rebelling against the new teaching staff. You would think the teacher would put 1 and 2 together, instead they recommend specialist.

I can understand that you know your own child ,but if anybody told me to do anything i would rebel and make life hell for them my moto is you can ask but dont tell,so i can see your reluctunce to let your child see someone,on the other hand my friends son who is now 27 coming up.couldnt speak until he was 4 i told my friend i thought that he was showing signs of autism.she wouldnt have it ,it took another 3 years of him being in school, for the teachers to see it she took him to be tested it came back it wasnt i said the doctors are wrong appeal against it,she did he was finally diagnosed with Asperges i still said it was autism,he is now nearly 27 got thrown out of a special college for his behaviour he can barely speak and cant be left on his own, now hes been told he has got autism, and my friend was told if he was diagnosed earlier they could have helped more, so it wouldnt hurt to get your son tested and see where you go from there
