Beautiful creature, the Spider is.
The Spider is my "totem animal!"
She'll spend her time meticulously weaving her web. Behind that weaving, is the force of Intention... the intention to attract to it [Law of Attraction] food! Thus, each fiber of her web is magically infused with the power of her intention. She doesn't hunt... she draws the bugs to her web.
When she has completed her web, she waits!
The Spider is the supreme symbol of patience and an exemplar of the Law of Attraction. If you destory her web, she will re-build it, as many times as you ruin it. Thus, she is also a symbol of Consistency.
Patience, Intention, Law of Attraction, and Consistency are the four main ingredient for success in Life, regarding any avenue, venture, or career.
The Spider is awesome!

My 2 grandmothers came from ‘2 different peoples’ - one I grew up with, the other one I know little about.
DNA reveals, she was like a Vepsian-Saami admix and spoke a language I could, but not quite fully understand.
She however was more into ceremonies and the old rules about totemic associations, like:
You cannot kill a swan, because a calamity would befall the hunter, you can’t kill a lizard – your sister, you can’t kill a spider – your mother.
The roles of owls in the family lines had been healers or law men.
So from her jigsaw puzzle .… and this is a bit sketchy ……
However - her symbol for the ‘Absolute’ - it’s Light; - was the Central Sun and ‘riding’ the Interconnectedness Energy between the relative and the absolute (the spider) skillfully can take you through the 7 awareness levels to the Central Sun.
I don’t know what the ‘silver-cord’ is, but I imagine that her mythology chose the 'Spider Mother' symbol for the spider-web-like fire/light filament – which is more like a ray of sunlight - connected to the navel area.
And yes – well – (energetically), it is associated with will/intention focus.
Added:
In myth the Spider Mother wasn’t the Creator of Earth as such (like creation stories of the Earth Divers were or the birth from the Cosmic Egg), but (as I understand it), she weaved a kind of a ladder, a way, means, a bridge, a scaffolding of 7 levels between the Earth and the Sky/Heaven/Central Sun.

P.S.
Those fire/light filaments from one’s (energy-body) navel area - I think Siberians call “snakes” - (in shaman’s costume one often has ‘snakes’ hanging off one’s belt or a snake sewn inside the belt in our version).
If we are talking about the same or similar thing? ...... Aboriginals call them “magic cords”, African Bushmen call them “ropes of God” and South Americans apparently have knowledge of these cords (called “strings”) as well (or so I’ve heard).
Teotihuacan Spider Woman??? – curiously has a snake coming out off her belt:

Was my gran’s belief about Spider Mother tied to these cords or strings? I do not know, she never explained, plus I do not know where did she got it from? Permia?
Here the Permian ‘Deities’ ride different energies:

Though Christians interpret these images according to their mind-set beliefs, and this just doesn’t sound right at all:

These are open questions, but I wish Christians (sympathetic to pagan or indigenous symbols) would stop interpreting them and distorting the beliefs.

P.P.S.
From that link:
“THE PERMIAN ANIMAL STYLE - TRAMPLING ON THE BEAST, OR VICTORY OVER THE ANIMAL NATURE”
Well, I’m not sure if the website is Christian, but that is total B-S!
(Kind of makes me understand a bit how Native Americans feel, when “New Age” embrace “Native Spirituality” and turn it into something entirely different – and also - as if there was a uniform belief system among all Native Americans).
But from the website:
https://rgdn.info/en/tayna_permskogo...tilya_raskryta
For example this image:
https://rgdn.info/assets/uploads/ima...il_perm-6-.jpg
Has nothing! to do with trampling on the beast or victory over the animal nature ….
More truthful interpretation is that it is the “God of Barley” ….. or the Guardian Spirit/Deity of Barley in Permian belief system - to whom the Udmurts prayed to “make the stalks bend under the weight of grain”.
The Lizard depicted underfoot is a symbol for Earth – Earth Energies. The Deity rides Earth Energy.
Hence you do not kill a Lizard!
And this:
https://rgdn.info/assets/uploads/ima...il_perm-2-.jpg
….. is a picture of the old totemic system where you have to marry into the opposite totemic moiety i.e. the Moose/Elk marries the Bear.
Sheeesh! How people bast***ize other people’s beliefs!
