Chronic Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

My mum hasn't been too good for ages now and she went for an MRI last month and got the results the other day, they said she has Chronic Progressive MS he said and has been referred to a Neurologist when they send her a letter. She's 60 this year.

Me and my OH live with my parents at the moment and were planning to move out early next year, living here was a stress beforehand but now it's unbareable in here and we have no space of our own so are constantly around them. My mum and stepdad are crying and hugging all the time all I can think of and read online is worse case scenarios and am so stressed and upset and depressed right now. We have no friends or any family around here and my sister now lives 200 miles away, I feel so alone. I only have my mum stepdad and my OH and have such anxiety about anything happening to any of them.

I have had to watch three other close family members including my dad die slowly and painfully with other degenerative diseases and to think that is going to happen again is just making me feel sick all the time, I can't take watching another person I love going that way. I haven't eaten anything much in the past three days or slept well, my mind just keeps on running over what could/is going to happen.

My mum can't walk too well as her right leg isn't working good, she drags it. She get's a bit confused sometimes and tired, drops things now and then and has fallen outside.

I don't know what else to say here, just finding things very difficult at the moment and can't stop thinking of what could happen again. I just feel totally miserable and depressed and just want to pretend it's all not happening and run away somewhere.

It's brought more fears back to me about losing the people I love, I have anxiety problems anyway and have been struggling them for years (social anxiety etc). I really only have my mum, step dad and other half and I am so scared of anything happening to them all, especially my other half, I'm just stressed all the time.

Thanks for reading.

I am so sorry to hear you are going through that
I had lost both of my parents by the time I was 35 years old, so I know exactly how you feel about the fear of something happening to the people you love, and losing them...
Unfortunately it is the way of things, and we need to dig deep to find our inner strength. Have you shared these feelings with your other half? I know it's hard to not feel alone....
Do you have to keep living there? Maybe get your own place, even if it's not far away, so you can still check on your mom daily, but you can also get some separation and time away from the constant stress. You getting sick will not help anything, so you do need to do what is necessary to take care of yourself, as well....

Tell your mom to seriously investigate the Paleo diet!

I have read over and over again where people were rescued from Multiple Sclerosis by adapting this life style!

Here's a link to an interview by a doctor who was deep into the disease herself... MS was progressing in a debilitating way, non of the medical treatments were working (she knew/tried them all, she's a doctor and knows the drill) it wasn't until she went "Paleo" that she was able to completely reverse the disease..... the "medical" approach is stupid!

Here's the link to the interview:

I second Stephen's post. I was diagnosed with MS about four years ago. Instead of giving up (at young 30's with two small kids) I went gluten and dairy free. It took about 2-3 months but felt the difference. I have now been off my injections and other meds for over 2 years. Symptoms have almost completely gone, as long as i balance my stress and rest. I just went off meat about 3 months ago too. Listening to your body really helps. No more vertigo, falling down, or majorly numb and tingly limbs. I still drop things sometimes, but who doesn't. :-) Look into diet! The pharm companies won't push it, bc then they'd lose money, but it REALLY makes a difference.

Oh, and i have cheated on this diet when i really crave something...usually pizza. It's pretty fast how the symptoms come back if i stay off to long.

Great posts so far. The only thing I'd like to add is that MS is always associated with the calcifying of the pineal gland. It could be extremely beneficial to avoid sodium fluoride. Also, taking a fermented cod liver oil/high vitamin butter oil mix has been shown to reverse the affects of calcification.

Amen! There is so much proof out there that medicine does nothing to cure an illness! Medicine suppresses symptoms, the illness remains... the only agent that "cures" is our body, and the only way it can do so is through nutrient dense foods, reduced exposure to toxins and an emotional state that's conducive to comfort and good health! Stress, toxicity, and fake foods are the sure ways to spin this body into serious imbalance.

A drug company is interested in one thing and one thing only... the pursuance of a patentable drug. All things natural are their enemy, they can't patent natural so there's no money to be made by educating us toward a more harmonious self.

Nature made our body, nature polices our bodies health, when we stray from this natural-harmonic exposure then we stray from that which is life-giving.

Just say "no" to fake foods and drugs.... (pharmaceutical and otherwise :^)
